Faith Center holds community yard sale to raise funds for human trafficking prevention education

Though just a small team of people, one local group is working to make a big impact in Humboldt County. E.P.I. (Empower. Protect. Invest) thinkSMALL Humboldt is holding a community yard sale to raise funds to bring human trafficking prevention education to local students.

The yard sale is being held at Faith Center Foursquare Church’s parking lot and cafĂ© on Saturday, August 27, 2016 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The sale will also include a raffle for several prizes. Breakfast and lunch will be available for purchase while shoppers browse the sale.

All funds raised will go towards purchasing licenses to bring the Prevention Project (preventionproject.org) to local high school classrooms.

The E.P.I. thinkSMALL Humboldt team intends to provide the curriculum and teach all six, 45-minute lessons to local students at no cost to schools. Community members are encouraged to donate their gently used items ahead of the sale. Drop off items at Faith Center Foursquare Church on August 24 & 25, 2016 from 4-7 p.m. and on August 26, 2016 from 7 a.m.-12 p.m.
