Forced home invasion robbery on 1300 block of M street

Update:  EPD recovered the stolen vehicle last night around 11:00 p.m. in the 1600 block of G Street. The vehicle was unoccupied and towed from the scene for evidence processing.

On 7/06/2016, at 4:56 a.m., Eureka Police Department officers responded to the 1300
block of ‘M’ Street for a report of a home invasion robbery. Upon investigation, officer learned that two males, wearing ski masks and gloves, forced their way into the
residence. The suspects were armed with handguns.

The suspects used handcuffs to secure the only adult male resident. A child and an
elderly subject were not restrained. The suspects assaulted the victim as they
interrogated him over the location of valuables. The suspects gained access to the
victim’s safe and stole several items. The suspects took the victim’s car keys and stole his 1999 green Mercury Cougar, California license 7GOT642.
