!6,000 outdoor marijuana plants eradicated on Hoopa and Yurok Tribal lands and U.S. States Forest Property

UPDATE

On Thursday, 07-07-2016 and Friday, 07-08-2016 the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) along with CAMP (Campaign Against Marijuana Planting) personnel, and Fish & Wildlife (F&W) Officers conducted a trespass marijuana investigations in Pecwan, Weitchepec and Orleans areas of Humboldt County. Officers eradicated a total of approximately 16,000 outdoor marijuana plants that ranged in size from 2 feet to 4 feet in height. The marijuana plants were located on Hoopa and Yurok Tribal lands and United States Forest Service property. There were no arrests

On Wednesday, June 6, 2016, the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) along with CAMP (Campaign Against Marijuana Planting) personnel, and Fish & Wildlife (F&W) Officers conducted a trespass marijuana investigation on Timber Company Land in the Atwell Creek Drainage system, east of Rio Dell.  DEU attempted to contact three suspects on scene who fled on foot. Deputies were unable to apprehend the suspects.  Deputies located evidence of chemical pesticides and rodenticides used within the marijuana grow.   F&W investigated the large scale water diversion from Atwell Creek.  A total of 11,030 marijuana plants were eradicated.


The investigation is ongoing.
