No drug arrest in Eureka was too good to be true for long; POP arrests two; one allegedly in a criminal street gang

On May 9, 2016, at about 2:15 p.m., detectives with the Eureka Police Department’s Problem Oriented Policing Unit (POP), served a probation search on William Flores at his residence on the 1400 block of L Street due to Flores having several outstanding warrants.

During the search, detectives located 232 grams of methamphetamine, 26.8 grams of heroin, 3 heroin loaded syringes, and drug paraphernalia.  William Flores, 28 of Eureka, was arrested for numerous drug possession charges and for actively participating in a criminal street gang.  Antonio Penaloza-Alva, 20 of Eureka, was also contacted during the search and arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
