Jonas Semore jury trial resumes Monday; Semore charged with the death of man dropped off at Mad River ER


Just confirmed with Deputy District Attorney Roger Rees that introductory instructions and opening statements are scheduled for Monday, May 16.

The Court previously granted the People's motion in limine. The defense motion will be decided on Monday. People's witnesses are scheduled for Monday, following opening statements.

Jonas Semore is charged in the homicide of David Ganfield, the Mckinleyville man, dropped off at Mad River ER.

Jonas Semore jury trial delayed, possibly start next Monday

Opening statements were scheduled to start today. The May 11 jury trial in the Jonas Semore case has been vacated, trial scheduled to start Monday, May 16.

An emergency continuance was filed by the defense.

Attorneys will meet with Judge John Feeney on Friday, May 13 at 8:30 for a hearing on status.

The defense has filed a motion in limine to exclude gang evidence. The District Attorney filed a motion to exclude prior conviction of witnesses.

Deputy District Attorney Roger Rees is prosecuting the case. Mr. Russ Clanton is representing Semore.
