Syklar Nemetz found guilty of first degree manslaughter for the death of his wife Danielle

Skylar Nemetz was charged with first degree murder. After almost two weeks of deliberations, the jury verdict just came in around 3:45 p.m.

Sentencing is March 25.

I just spoke with Danielle's family friend, more like a dad to her, and will update the post later. Family and friends are not happy with the verdict and out of respect , I will wait to talk to them when they are ready.

The trial was prosecuted in Pierce County, Washington. It received national attention.

With a firearms enhancement, five years will be added to Nemetz's sentence.

  1. John:

This is what I found in the Washington Codes for this offense:

    RCW 9A.32.060
    Manslaughter in the first degree.
    (1) A person is guilty of manslaughter in the first degree when:
    (a) He or she recklessly causes the death of another person; or
    (b) He or she intentionally and unlawfully kills an unborn quick child by inflicting any injury upon the mother of such child.
    (2) Manslaughter in the first degree is a class A felony.

Likely looking at between 11-14 years including the Firearms enhancement according to this tool.
