Schneider restaurant, office and residences on Second and I street, applicant Travis Schneider

The Eureka City Planning Commission will meet March 14, 2016 at the Eureka City Hall at 5:30 p.m.

They will be discussing a project: The Schneider Restuarant Conditional Use Permit. The location is 215 I street. The zoning is office/residential.

According to notices sent out to neighbors, the "applicant is proposing to add a restaurant within a mixed use building, planned for construction at the southeast corner of 2nd and I streets. The approximately 3,000 square foot restaurant will be located on the first floor of the three story building, and will include a bar, a kitchen and elevated mezzanine. "

The building faces I street and is located at the north end of a parcel which contains a single family residence and a detached garage, which will remain. The building will contain offices on the second floor and residences on the third floor.

The parcel is zoned office and residential and in the Coastal Zone. The offices and residences are permitted but the restaurant requires approval of a conditional use permit by the City and an additional Coastal Development Permit.
