EPD responded to St. Bernards after getting a call about a possibly drunk man howling , only to find a compliant Bullock claiming he was looking for shelter

EPD Detective Amber Cosetti responded with Officer Crnich to St. Bernards Church around 2:11 a.m. in the early hours of January 1, 2014.

This was the lengthiest and only cross of a witness this afternoon by Bullock's attorney, Mr. Kaleb Cockrum. There was redirect, then recross, which finally was over after four  bouts between Mr. Cockrum and Deputy District Attorney Andrew Isaac. Det. Cosetti is also the only witness, so far, subject to recall.

The gist of Detective Cosetti's testimony was that Bullock did not seem in crisis, he was compliant, they had no reason to detain him, they gave him directions to the Eureka Rescue Mission and escorted him off the church property. Detective Cosetti who is trained in dual diagnosis and Crisis Intervention Training said she saw no signs of Bullock being intoxicated.

some select quotes...from Detective Cosetti's testimony:

"Security guard called about a possibly intoxicated male  trying to use restrooms in the church."

"Defendant said he had been arrested earlier that night in Garberville for being intoxicated"

"Defendant said he had been released from jail couple of hours earlier, he was displaced and looking for a way to go home."

Officer Crinch saw a bulge in his pocket which was paperwork with jail release forms.

Det Cosetti answered no to all thesequestions DDA Isaac asked her "Did he act like he was drunk?" "Did he act like he was high?" Did you smell anything?" Det Cosetti said Bullock did not say anything about voices or talk gibberish, and "he didn't  refer to you as Archanagel Michael."

"The last time I saw Mr. Bullock he was walking northbound on H street."
