Boyfriend who allegedly assaulted his girlfriend riding with her in car gets turned in when she spots police

On 02-23-2016 at approximately 4:40 PM, a Willits Police Officer was flagged down by a female motorist who reported she had been physically assaulted by her boyfriend during a domestic violence incident.

The boyfriend, J. Hugo Carrillo-Flores, was seated in the passenger seat of her car.  The incident had occurred earlier in the day at the home the couple shared in the 33400 block of Bertha Keys Way in Willits, California.

That address is in an unincorporated area of the county serviced by the Mendocino County Sheriff's Office.  A Deputy Sheriff was dispatched and arrived a few minutes later to assume responsibility for the investigation into the reported incident.

The Deputy learned the adult female and Carrillo-Flores had argued over the use of a car they owned jointly.  The argument grew more heated until Carrillo-Flores began to vandalize the car and pushed the adult female to the ground causing bruising to her lower right leg.

When it appeared Carrillo-Flores had left the residence, the adult female got into her car and drove away.  A few minutes later Carrillo-Flores emerged from a hiding place in the rear seat area and began to damage the vehicle again.

The adult female drove into the city of Willits to seek help, stopping only when she saw the Willits Police Officer.

Carrillo-Flores was arrested for domestic violence battery and was booked into the Mendocino County Jail where he was to be held in lieu of $25,000.00 bail.
