Reducing the salary of DHHS director, possible disbandment of the law enforcement liaison committee and appointment of CAO and DHHS director at next Board of Supervisor meeting

Amend the Implementation Date of the Approved Adjustment to the Salary for the Classification of Director - Department of Health and Human Services 14. That the Board of Supervisors adopt Resolution No. _____ (attachment B), which amends Resolution No. 15-95 (Compensation Plans for Management and Confidential Employees and for Elected and Appointed County Officials) to adjust the monthly salary of Director- Department of Health and Human Services from $14,166 to $13,667, effective December 29, 2015. RECOMMENDATION(S): That the Board of Supervisors discuss the possible disbandment ofthe Citizen's Law Enforcement Liaison Committee

 DISCUSSION: The Citizen's Law Enforcement Liaison Committee (CLELC) was formed by Resolution 10-01 on January 5, 2010 (attached). It was formed to help educate the public on law enforcement policies and procedures of the County's Sheriffs Department and to receive input from members ofthe public regarding areas of concern involving the County Sheriffs Office. The CLELC has seen a decline in the need to meet on a monthly basis. It has also experienced a high turnover in membership appointment. The Sheriff and the current Chair of the CLELC would like to discuss the disbandment of the Committee.

It is the intention of the Board of Supervisors to meet in closed session to consider the
appointment for the position of County Administrative Officer pursuant to Government Code
sections 54954.5 and 54957.

I followed up and Mr. Hanes had not resigned at that time.

Mr. Hanes did get another job in Kansas and will be starting that job on March 1, 2016.

His contract requires him to give a certain amount of notice. Mr. Hanes is expected to hand in a resignation soon and be around until at least February 2016.
