"Good quality, traditional services that your grandfather used to get on Sunday", new business gives back to the community for holidays

On September, Robert Blair opened KutThroat Barber Lounge. KutThroat Barber Lounge is located at 415 Opera Alley. It is not even three months since he opened; Blair had regulars and was been booked with appointments within the first week that he opened. This is all from word of mouth and Facebook.

 "We moved here for my wife's job," said Blair. "We were also looking for a place along the coast to call home. We just fell in love with the small-town, coastal, community feel."

Blair owned a barber shop in NAPA. He has been in the "business, professionally for seven years. Barbering is my passion." His previous career was as an union carpenter.

Blair explained to me that a master barber is someone with "hours of experience, hand-trained by traditional barbers in the 50s style. Very traditional cutting, straight razor shave. More of the old American way. Good quality, traditional services that your grandfather used to get on Sunday."

Blair renovated his shop and it has the feel of a 1900s look. "A prohibition style babrbershop." He just recently added a 1860s Weiss & Schwarz barber chair,

As a thank you to the community, in December 2014, Blair is offering specials for kid's haircuts for only $10 and to all  AMilitary , Fire , EMT, Law Enforcement , Court Employees , or any other Civil Service employees for only $ 15. 

"This is my way of saying thank you to the community, they have been overwhelmingly gracious in the support," said Blair. "I like to make everyone feel good and look good."
