Charles Huntzinger arrested for allegedly stabbing his brother

On Thursday, November 12, 2015 at approximately 11:45 a.m. Investigators with the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office arrested 44 year old Charles William Huntzinger, Jr. on a Ramey warrant. The Ramey warrant was issued by the Humboldt County Superior Court for PC664/187(a) – Attempted Murder and PC245(a)(1) – Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Huntzinger was transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where he was booked on the Ramey warrant.

On 10-26-2015 at 9:03 p.m. the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call from a residence located in the 400 block of Railroad Avenue, Blue Lake, regarding an assault that had just occurred. When deputies arrived on scene they located a 30 year old male victim, who had been stabbed several times by his older brother, 44 year old, Charles William Huntzinger Jr. Medical arrived on scene and the victim was transported to a local hospital. The victim is currently in stable condition. Charles Huntzinger fled the scene prior to deputies arrival.
The crime scene was secured and Investigators with the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office were contacted and arrived on scene to take over the investigation. A search warrant was obtained for the crime scene. Investigators then processed the scene and collected evidence and spoke to witnesses related to the assault.
At this time it is unclear why the suspect, Chuck Huntizinger attacked his brother with a knife. The area was checked for Chuck Huntzinger with negative results.
The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office has issued a Be on the Lookout (BOL) to other law enforcement agencies to arrest Charles Huntzinger for attempted murder. Charles Huntizinger is described as a Native American, male, 6’-3”, 145 pounds, with short black hair.
