    2. Nah John. It is what I have observed.
Are you aware of a right-wing humorist?

      Never happened.

  3. Odd... I thought Virginia Bass called herself a Democrat?

    Now... that was funny.

  4. MOLA, what is funny is that both Daniel and you are showing your political bias and complete lack of humor. To both of you, it is the party label that matters and certain political values, damn qualifications. As a Republican, I have supported Democratic candidates and causes. That's because I have an open mind.

    1. I am sorry John.
      I meant to be real.
Do you know of a right-wing humorist?

    2. Dennis Miller, Jeff Foxworthy to name two. Daniel, take a break from trying to prove a political point you have no basis for and check out some humor. I plan to enjoy the rest of my evening. You should too instead of typing yet another comment with the same point.

    3. Of course I have a political bias. So do you. God bless us everyone of us.

Well, humor-wise I do have my off days. It was just this time the irony got the best of me.

Anyway, I'm an truly glad you and yours had fun.

    4. But Mr. Chiv, how many of your fellow Republicans can you say that about? Be honest.
I too vote for individuals not platforms or labels, but todays GOP seems to hate and despise anything that is not them. I would say you are the exception. Just sayin'.

    5. Patsy, the hate and intolerance part can be applied to many Democrats as well. Labels tend to stop us from getting to know individuals. This was a light hearted post about a fundraiser and out of three responses, all from Democrats, only yours was mostly positive. Not everything has to be a political discussion.

  5. But it is OK, right, to have a political discussion in a thread titled "Yes, there is a Republican comedian, Elks hosts fundraiser for Humboldt Republican Central Committee"?

And it is interesting to note who attends when there are no Republicans that I know of that are running for important Eureka or Humboldt County positions outside of Frank Jaeger, Downey, etc.? others?

I for one am glad to see Virginia and Rex proudly demonstrating their support for the Republican Party. Maybe we can bring this to the attention of Democrats Wood and McGuire. Not that it would help.

They should be proud Republicans. The proudly support right of center policies that favor private interests (largely their supporters) over public at-large interests. Labels are important and the reasons conservatives and Republicans don't like their use is because a Democrat currently has a 25% advantage in elections, so better to not mention party affiliation, or, become a DTS or even a Democrat.

  6. Jon, this is two days later and here you are obsessed about the same topics you always are. Other news has happened. Do you ever relax or is everything a political discussion?
