Just spoke with Tom Wheeler from EPIC. http://www.wildcalifornia.org/ has the details on EPIC's lawsuit and the background.
EPIC filed a lawsuit because the Mad River Hatchery did not have a genetic management plan and were putting native population of fish at risk. The Hatchery agreed to have one in place by November. They could not meet the deadline. EPIC agreed to help them secure funds so they can achieve that goal.
