My all time favorite blog, besides mine of course, is the Humboldt Mirror. The wit, the graphics, and I always agree with them. Who needs sunshine, beer, when you got Bugs? Instant joy after a long hard day.
People either love or hate Rose, but most people do not know her. I admire her tenacity and standing up for what she believes in and she always posts under her name. That takes guts in this town.
Eric and I often have different views but he is a great example of how we can disagree and still have respectful political discourse and he is very loyal to those he supports.
To the folks at NCJ, especially Ryan and Andrew, I may disagree with you, you may piss me off often with what you write, but you make me laugh and you had the best coverage of recent elections.
Charles Douglas, the Sentinel and your work at Access Humboldt is unique. You are such an asset locally. Just like Eric, we disagree but we do it civilly and I enjoy our discussions.
I saved my last shout out for Kay Recede, the crew of Channel 3, and for Kimberly and Marc at the TS. Kay and Channel 3, thanks for bringing back the memories of what local TV coverage should be like.
Kimberly and Marc, you have given me back the joy I felt when I first started out as a journalist. That is only one reason I write exclusively for you.
Local media is not perfect, nor are we as human beings. The job of media is not to please everyone. When you piss off both sides, you are doing your job.
We are missing conservative and moderate voices locally. I hope we see more of that representation locally.
